European Azerbaijan School (EAS)

In September 2011, The European Azerbaijan Society (TEAS) founded the European Azerbaijan School (EAS) in Baku, Azerbaijan.

The school opened with 95 pupils, with teaching being offered from grades five to eight. In September 2012, the school opened a primary department and has now grown to over 200 full-time students from primary to grade nine. There are currently 42 teachers, 12 administrative and 11 technical staff.

The teaching language at EAS is Azerbaijani; however, as EAS intends to become an International Baccalaureate® (IB) World School, students will also be taught English in intensive classes. The school also teaches Russian language.

In addition to its fully developed educational curriculum, the school also offers an extensive extracurricular programme. Activities include: drama (Azerbaijani, Russian and English language); chess; dancing; swimming; a school choir; traditional carpet making; drawing and pottery.

EAS is a private, fee-paying school. Fees are kept to a minimum to ensure that a wide selection of students can enrol.

Scholarships are available to students who:

  • Achieve high results in EAS admission tests
  • Achieve high results during the academic year
  • Are from low-income families.
